Organizational Structure

International Medical Exchange, Inc. (IME) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a Board of Directors, Steering Committee and staff drawn from both Africa and the United States, who are passionately dedicated to finding solutions to the rapidly growing health problems facing the people of Africa.

We also recognize the greater, long-term impact on global health and security that these health challenges represent, and seek solutions through an exceptionally broad and deep network of in-country associates, as well as government health ministries, corporate and select operational NGO partners worldwide.

International Medical Exchange, Inc. (IME) strives diligently to achieve good stewardship of our and our Partners' resources. Simply put, we do this by focusing our energies on those critically-needed healthcare development and delivery, education and relief programs that directly and dramatically benefit the people who need them most.

Since its founding in Richmond, VA, in 1997, IME has earned a reputation for competence and effectiveness in the development and implementation of its programs, as well as a high standard of integrity and transparency in its financial management.

Our U.S. operations are now based in Silver Spring, MD, where we are registered under Title VI as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with the Secretary of State of Maryland. (Certificate #15678)
